So Much Anime, So Little Time

Actually, I’ve seemingly had a lot more time than usual lately, and in the past few weeks I’ve managed to finish Tenjou Tenge, Grenadier, Haibane Renmei, Jubei-chan 2, Neon Genesis Evangelion, End of Evangelion, Haruhi, and Someday’s Dreamers, all of which I plan to post on soon (if I haven’t already). Problem is, I didn’t think to take any screenshots when I watched them, so now I need to go back and get screenshots from all of them. ^_^;

I may yet skip over some; EVA and Haruhi have been done to death, and I’m not sure what I could add about them. Grenadier was surprisingly good… it’s like Trigun, but more upbeat and with a lot more fanservice. Someday’s Dreamers was also surprisingly good, and very low-key. It wasn’t at all what I was expecting, but it was really good. And Jubei-chan 2 was excellent. Not quite as good as the original, but it nice to know the series didn’t go severly downhill. We even get two Jubei’s; how is that not fun?

Haibane Renmei

I just finished Haibane Renmei. Steven Den Beste (see Chizumatic under the blog roll) reviewed this series nearly two years ago, and it remains number one on his top recommendations. And there’s a really good reason for that. There’s not much I could add that he hasn’t already said. Which is to say, I’m going to keep from saying anything and suggest you watch it if you haven’t already. Don’t read any reviews or synopsis or anything; just go and watch and enjoy it’s greatness.
