Battlestar Galactica

I’m not sure why I’ve never posted about the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. I’ve been following since the mini-series way back in 2003, and it’s still one of the best shows on television (not that it has much competition). The decision to end the series this season is a little dissapointing, but only because the show is still so good. There’s no telling how long they could keep this level of quality going, and so far nothing feals truncated or stretched a little too thin.

Is there anything to replace it? I almost always have a television on nearby, but I’m rarely actually watching anything on it. I can count the number of shows I follow regularly on one hand. My Name is Earl was good, but I haven’t seen it in forever and it wasn’t so interesting that I’m dying to see it again. The Office falls into the same category. Scrubs is generally good, but I don’t follow it. I’ve lost interest in Stargate. I can’t stand most reality-television.

Lost has been so overhyped I don’t know if I’ll ever watch it, regardless of how good it might actually be. I’ve never been particularly interested in Smallville. I wanted to get into Heroes, but it sounds like I’m better off having missed out on that one. Liliy has gotten’ me interested in CSI, but I only catch it here and there. Law & Order is a fav, but I only like the classic series and I think I’ve seen all of them. House was good, but every episode is pretty much the same and I can only take so much of a know-it-all asshole. I had high hopes for the new Flash Gordon, but that lasted less than one episode.

What does everyone else watch? BSG won’t really finish until sometime near the end of this year, but once it’s gone about the only thing left that I’ll be keeping up with is The Colbert Report.
