Super iMac Fundraising Go!

In a shameless attempt to get an iMac without having to pay for the whole thing myself, I’m trying out ChipIn in an effort to raise money to make the switch. The cut-off date is April 26, 2008 ((Offer available while supplies last. No one but Maikeru of maikeruon.com is eligible to win. Take only as directed. Donating may be accompanied by feelings of happiness, joy, and nausea.)), because that’s when Western Michigan University’s Spring semester ends and I’ll no longer be eligible for Apple’s student discount. If you’re wondering about the $3000, here’s what I’m looking at getting:

  • 24″ Apple iMac with 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB RAM, 500GB HDD, wireless Mighty Mouse and Apple Keyboard, iWork ‘08 (~$2100)
  • Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium (~$600)

The extra $300 would help cover PayPal transaction fees, as well as any other Apple hardware or software I might need to fully switch. Don’t wait: help me make the switch! ((Please note that PayPal charges a significant fee for credit card donations. If you’re using a credit, please try to donate at least $5.00))

If I donate $100 to your cause, will you donate $100 to my getting more Wii games?

That… kind of defeats the purpose.

I have a penny in my room now.  I tried putting it into my computer to give you, but the CD Rom started making a lot of weird noises.  I tried the DVD rom, and that did the same thing.

On an unrelated note, I need a new CD rom and DVD rom.

I don’t think it defeats the purpose at all.  You’ll have $100 dollars for your iMac, and I’ll have $100 dollars to buy more Wii games.  We help each other out, we BOTH win!

While we’re at the "computer store" Yargman1, I need some new hardware, and some new software!
